Christmas has come and gone. Mine wasn't so bad. I got a digital camera from my dad and Nancy! I really like it, and i take pictures of a bunch of random junk, but the pics arent so bad. I got a bodhran from Emma's mom. It's so cool! And probably the most fun drum I've ever played, excluding tenors, of course. It's Irish, or Celtic, whatever, i dont know, but it's usually played with bagpipes.

My mom got me an awesome Yamaha tenor practice pad, but it hasn't come in the mail yet. And of course i have the DVD of this year's Aledo marching competition, I wouldn't be me if i didnt; I watch it ALL the time! Tommy got me some shoes, i like those too, I've never worn anything other than tennishoes(sp?!?!). Well, i got a few other things, but it was all nice. Emma and I haven't gotten eachother anything yet though.... lol, our originaly gift ideas didnt follow through. Its a good thing we kinda sort of like eachother... a little bit. JK. Well, i hope everyone had a great Christmas (I know Cammie did!) and i hope you all have a happy New Year too! (I know I won't, mine gets a jump start to NO MPULSE!!! &$@#$^**^&*$&%$*%^#*^$^#&^&#^$&$%^?^#^$#%^#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Band is going well, but its not at the same time. There is a huge thing with the drumline and Smoot. Any time the drumline does anything wrong he gets pissed off, turns red and stomps around and screams at us, threatening to take away Pasic. But on the many occasions that the winds do something wrong, all he does is give them a simple talk about how to fix it. Gah i promised myself i wouldnt get into it. Let me just say this, for the first time ever, I, Bobby Lay, the biggest band freak ever, have thought about, considered and wondered about quitting band. I would hate myself for the rest of my life, and i wouldnt be able to see a football stadium without falling on my face and crying every last drop of fluid out of my body.... But i dont leave the bandhall in a good mood, EVER. I have extremely violent thoughts about Smoot and Foster almost every 5 seconds. At the game i wanted to jump up, throw my tenors down the steps, chunk my sticks at Smoot's face, and just leave, walk home, but i doubt id get that far, after doing something like that i might just lay down in the highway. No, posting this on a public site is probably not the smartest thing to do, but i just NEED to get out all of this stuff, and this is my way of doing so. I want to say SOOOOOO much more about why i feel the way i do, and what all lead up to this, but i cant, something might slip, someone would tell someone else, it would eventually get to the directors, and i would be thrown out of the school, or something...... ive broken 4 heads all the way through, and i love the show, and the drill......

Soooooo, Dreams got screwed over even more!! Now instead of the slow section coming up out of nowhere, the way it sounds AWESOME, the drums start the 6/4 part a measure early because nobody knows how to switch from 12/8 to 6/4, t shouldnt be that hard. I listen and play to Dreams every day, and im always right on with the switch every time! I hate when we screw up the good musicianship of the show!! Like the rockouts that im still mad about! Those are the highlights of the entire thing! The guy who wrote our show said Dreams is the main production, and what's the biggest part of Dreams? THE STUFF WE TOOK OUT! grrrrrr, atleast i can play along to it here on the internet.........

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! I'm listening to "Dreams" from the show, and it makes me sick because the BEST PARTS of the whole thing are cut out, or screwed up!!! My tenor solo was screwed up, but atleast we still have one.... but for u band members, my parts that i love most are 38-48 and 59-62 (my absolute favorite part!) 59 through 62 is a really cool tenor lick with the rockout crashes from the pit, why was it taken out? there is nothing wrong with that part, and if it was for timing werent there PLENTY of other places that could be shortened up? All these parts are rockout parts..... 45 through 48 isnt hard, but its just really cool sounding, its a ROCKOUT!! why do we have to take out the ROCKOUT?!?!?!?! It sounds so perfect, even if its pretty cheezy....... atlest we have our little 12 measures of rockout....i guess but id rather have 20. but it makes me mad cuz its the best part of the show because its just so freaking fun!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrr........ maybe for some reason we will be able to put it all back, but i absolutely positively doubt that will happen.....

Camp is going great so far! Kim is doing VERY well, and we are both WAY better on tenors, and for once its safe to say WE are the best section!!! Moe and I came so close last year, but the basses were really good, so Howard said the basses were the best, but we all knew deep in our hearts, no one could top the tenors. I don't know where tenors stood my freshman year, but I'm pretty sure i kept Trent and I from being the best... I really sucked back then, Kim is way better than i was when i started. I like being in subs for most of the day because we can do nothing but tenors stuff, and work on tenors technique. Our tech guy says we are way ahead of the other sections, which we have time to just perfect our music. I'm actually getting into this music too, its really fun. Personally i think its the best show we've ever done, and who's to argue? I liked last year's, but the drumline music is just better than ever this year. And this year's show seems more like a marching show than a translation of concert music onto marching instruments. I cant wait to see the drill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then i want our Pasic music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im so excited!
